Although my post count isn't huge I've been a UKGS'er from the very beginning. In 2002 I comprehenively destroyed my John Deacon 1150GS and after the surgically enforced break(!) I returned with a 1150GSA at the start of 2004.

Earlier this year the GSA was sold to be followed by a brief affair with a Harley. After intense treatment my "itch has been scratched" and I'm now cured - the new shiney fully pimped Magna Red 1200GS DOHC arrived yesterday :thumb2

Being new to the 1200 I need some advice please:

1. The bike came with Vario panniers and I want to get a top box to match as my wife needs to have a back rest - is the vario top box any good and how much is it?
2. I want to fit a set of engine bars - which are considered to be the best, where to get them from and how much?
3. What are considered to be "essential" add ons - I don't intend to "Touratech" it to death but I will be riding it off-road so will fit whatever is needed to make life easier and safer :thumb

Thanks in advance everyone

Regards

Vario box is good, but you will need to get the newer model, some of the older ones about s/h are a bit weak on the mount points and can crack, also make sure you fit the rack support bar. :thumb2

And of course HiD lights :)
