A friend of mine bought one of the first F800GS's ( btw I know faff all about them ) and apart from the chain problem and a few other minor niggles , he loves it ! However, when he turns off the ignition.... about two minutes later he notices a very slight amber light glow in background of the dash computer...and it stays on all the time ! 12,000 miles on the clock.
Has anybody else experienced this problem ? ( He will get a diagnosis when he puts it in the BMW dealers but that won't be until about ( I think ) 15,000 miles.

This could be the back light for the instruments I think they work the same way as the 1200gs and have a sensor that detect the ambient light and turns up the back light as required if so this is normal.

He say's it works but surely when the ignition key is removed, everything should be dead:nenau The amber glow comes on ( and stays on ) after about two minutes without the ignition on etc
BTW I don't even know what the bike looks like so excuse my ignorance !!
