advice on where to load the tent

Great post wapping thank you very much :bow

It's fine, no problem. :thumb2

But seriously, it is a problem (or at least a question) that you could probably have solved yourself just by imagining other loaded bikes you have seen. Then standing next to the bike, with the tent in your hands and seeing how and where it might all go. In a way, trial and error, is all a bit of the fun of the whole motorcycling 'experience' and 'lifestyle' (everything is an experience lifestyle these days). Look at the problem and try to solve it. In doing so, you get to know your bike and yourself much better. If you cock it up, it makes a half decent tale to tell in the pub, if nothing else. :beerjug:

Enjoy your jaunt and don't be too afraid to ask questions.... just get good at ducking when some of the answers come back :D

PS Don't forget to tell how it all went. Seriously, as a new to touring bod, your news could help others get off their butts to try it, too. Ypu'll be an oldhand before you know it, I'm sure.

My own simple rule is, if it doesn't all fit in the panniers it doesn't go, simple. No tat strapped on the back in bags etc.

If I am not camping the panniers don't need to go on as everything will fit in a top box and tank bag.

In my experience: Luggage expands to fill available space.

I could go away camping with everything lashed to the back seat at one time.

Now I have panniers, top-box, tank-bag and a huge pile of stuff on the pillion...

What are "two large stickies"?

Kummel, in this case.

Two, as in one more than one but one less than three.

Large, as in greater than small but less than huge or enormous.

Stickies, as in post blow out lubrication. A settler, if you like. Before a couple more pints, or maybe a cleansing gin and tonic. Not to be confused with a 'phlegm cutter' which is something quite different.

I see, I thought it may have been something to do with Sticky Vicky.

How strange, Sticky Vicky used to be a waitress at the very establishment Wapping and I dined at on Friday. Her mother (Iris) still works in the downstairs restaurant along with Maureen, Kiri and Maureen behind the bar.

Vintage!

I hope you enjoy your camping trip robjet.

Wonderful stuff, haven't laughed like that for ages - Wapping + Chas, you naughty boys are regulars at simbo's, aren't you?

Heaven on earth. :thumb
