Advice Please

I have been looking for a GS for a few weeks now, but there is nothing for sale up here ( North Yorkshire ) at this time of year. I have just seen a GS advertised in London ( 500 mile 'round trip ) that caught my eye. It's a 2002, with ABS, panniers, heated grips, and has only done 3600 miles. The guy is asking £7,200 ( private sale ) Does this seem like a fare price? I know that I will ultimately be the judge of that, but I would be grateful for any advice you guys out there can offer. It's a long way for me to travel, to waste everyones time.

The price seems pretty fair, but, for my money, it would have to be in tip-top condition with all the right stamps in the service book (including the annual service).

I think at that money I'd get it HPI checked. Why not see if a member of this board lives near the vendor and can give it an initial once-over before you travel?

Perhaps the vendor and e-mail some photographs?

You should be aware that yellow bikes and those in the value blue-white colours are worth less. Black bikes are the most sought after!

Please also remember that the Blue and white ones are far faster and handle better than the Black ones due to wearing the BMW racing colours.

I have no connection with these guys, but have recently bought my first ever BMW from them and can only say that they gave me superb service. Glasgow is probably a load quicker to get to than anywhere down south too... Even in the car I can do Glasgow to York in 3.5 -4 hours
