Well I think I've decided on an Aerostitch darien jacket and will pick t up when I get to the U.S.
Just one question though should I go for the standard liner or the windblocker heated liner.
If anyone has any advice or experience of these it would be much appreciated.
I fancied the heated windblocker liner but thinking of life span and keeping warm whilst not on the bike.
what do you think.

I oredered mine today with the grey liner but think I might call them tomorrow and ask for the blue liner! As for the electric liners they won't work with the canbus on the 1200s and the electric vests they have don't zip into the darien.

By the way make sure you order your jacket before heading out as they told me today that they don't have the size /colour combination I want so I will have to wait three weeks.............but seeing as we are under 1.5 meters of snow I think I can wait!

Also check you get the right size as some people have gone a size up depending on the liner.

Yeh maybe should have mentioned I'm from the Orange side:roll
So the heated liner shouldn't be a problem.
Just wondered if anyone out htere has an aerostitch Daien and what liner they have and how do they rate the jacket.
I can return it if I'm not happy with it whilst in the states and just get a Rukka when I come back.
Reading there website though they seem like they put a lot of care into their products but I might be wrong.
Will check on that one size bigger thing, cheers for that.

The jacket is awesome. Now, they are very utilitarian and won't win any awards on style, but, you won't find a more functionable piece of kit. It is road tested and will stand the test of time. Yes, it's a little quirky. Armor is velcro'd in, for example, which is a little weird, but, it is water proof without liner, since the Goretex is laminated to the cordura. Venting is good. It works so well, you'll wonder why everyone else doesn't have one. The new style darien sizing is much better too.

If you're not concerned with style, and, want a functional jacket that will stand the test of time and the road as you're sliding down it, you won't do much better.

Oh, and, the heated liner? Lots of folks over here in the states don't use them. I guess the heat just isn't as good as a Gerbings or a Warm n Safe. Still, I've considered getting one, since it zips in.

IIWY I'd do a search on the Advrider equipment section....they like their Dariens as much as people here like their twat suits and with so many guys there, I'm sure you'll find hundreds of posts on the options :)
