Africa Twin is coming

Er.....can't you just pop across the channel and buy one?

Probably can, but I think 'they' will still look for more money once it's wheels hit the UK in either import duty, vat, type approval or whatever they can dream up to make it harder/more expensive. Otherwise everybody would be doing it like they were 15 odd years ago.

The UK price will be whatever the market is deemed to be able to withstand (i.e. to be competitive with similar machines) and no justification will be offered (and nor should it really). Such is the way of things.

Honda UK will charge what they believe the British market will stand, irrespective of what Europe charges, but that will vary due to different tax charges in each member state

If they don't sell at the initial price point - Honda UK will discount them then

Supply & demand - so make hay while the sun shines & punters are flocking to buy them

Exactly, the price is bound to start a bit high to catch the inevitable 'kings new clothes' punters that are buying into the great 'Africa Twin holy grail' dream.

That would be me then.......:aidan

Not really aimed at you particularly, I hope it is everything you want it to be and you enjoy it. There just seems an odd hype surrounding the name of a bike (and that ultimately is all it is.)

especially odd are the glowing references to to the old AT. it's not like people were fighting to buy them at the time :nenau

Nope the 'final edition' stood unsold in 2002/3 in showrooms, for months as did the Varadero last models

Can't understand the original AT hype, I had one in 1996 new and it was heavy/vague and dived liked a hooker giving a blowjob, totally underpowered at 60bhp and that seat - it should have been in a KGB interrogation room

Once anyone had a test ride on a 1100GS, it was light years better, in all quarters

Some other pics.....the dash looks pretty cool.

I just don't get all the excitement. It looks like an 800GS.
