Africa Twin is coming

I've read good things about that 500 Honda. Probably the type of bike people should really take on their RTW journey. ;)

This came up in my FB feed today, seems that some have got fed up waiting ;)

I actually really like it :)

Andres

That's the one I rode.

a friend who has a KTM990 and a stock CB500X for work also rode it and said the suspension upgrade is the most impressive part making a big difference.

I found it great in the bends and well controlled on the green lanes

Don't they do one for adults? :D

They do !!
its called a 700 Transalp of which ive done almost the same thing to
Decat gives 50mm more ground clearance and saves 8kg and adds 7BHP (rolling road confirmed)
Decent end can saves another 3-4 Kg and adds 1 BHP
Hyperppro front springs and preload adjusters takes the front up an inch and makes it behave in the dirt
rear shock raising links add another 1 inch to the rear
inline flick switch disables the ABS for off road riding

all in all you've now got a 200kg bike that's got 68 bhp will wheelie on command is good on fuel that already has a spoked wheels with 19" front so TKC80s fit perfect

Hey presto you've got a bike worthy of anything at a fraction of the cost !!

No nothing else apart from a K+N that I forgot
the guy on the rolling road said the cat really strangles the bike which id have to agree as the bike just feels alive now :thumb

I've heard the same. Those bikes are all over the Far East and Americas so parts are cheap and plentiful in the unlikely event that you'd need any.

the Thais do some next kit for them

Had a nice chat with my dealer principal who was over in England for the AT dealer launch. They're all very excited, as you'd expect. They all had their phones taken off them, so no sneaky pics allowed.

Yes he has.....the bike on display was one of the red ones used in the making of the video.. :blagblah
They aren't allowed to let anything out of the bag until the NEC.....under pain of death. I'd love to say more, but the less I say, the more vitriol I expect from JB. ;)

....oh how jolly exciting it must have been for them, phones taken off them, treated to exciting secret snippets and all this in the week the new Bond film is out.

I bet they even had some social media guru telling them how they'd built the *market up into a frenzy of excitement.

They'll be returning back looking to be that font of special knowledge only to wake up this morning to realise they are just another Cnut that has to work on Saturdays who for a few more days can say I'm important enough for them to tell me but you're not important enough for me to tell you - Day dreaming Cnut's

* they'll not have defined the market but research has shown its a bloke in Ireland known localy as 'not fuckin him again' and a geezer from Essex who has a compulsive attention seeking buying disorder.
