I liked it... You sit in it .... 60 miles to the gallon, and 4 gallon tank. The one thing Honda do very well is a 1 litre engine. And great value for money. If your going to ride it off road then sump guard and engine bars round the rad are essential... I will be booking a test ride..

I'd agree with all that. The optional packs similar to BMW also look a good idea but £750 for fog lights and mounting bar???? Also a 12v socket would seem to be something that should be standard.
As far as the luggage goes there will be plenty options if you don't like the Honda options.

One thing surprised me was the tension on the throttle Spring. Don't let go of the throttle you would be over the handlebars...

I like it a lot, would I buy it after seeing it at the nec and only siting on a locked down bike,,,not yet,,, I'll wait till it hits the show room then ride it, if it's my only bike in the garage Honda will be hard pushed to get BMW owner to swap over to the AT, but two bike owners have a alternative ride, as for accessories BMW owners spend on average 3 grand after buying there bike so I don't think there'll be an issue paying extra to accessorise the AT, I spoke to the Honda guy at nec and told me that there is a lowered Africa twin option as well, that will be available at Wales myrtha Tydfil to ride.
Plus the Versys ain't no looker
Mate got to disagree with that one the pre 2014 ones are Pig ugly with the Cyclops looks but the V2s are really nice looking in the flesh
Im not fully out but the 2 bikes ive got that are used are the Versys 1000, which the New AT wont be as good as on road and my Mint well sorted 13 plate Transalp that has only done 1300 miles which I use for a bit of green lanes is almost the same weight, now would I use a £10500 bike + accs £1500 £12000 greenlining when a £5k bike does it very well and sacrifice the on road ride or keep the Transalp for what it does and have 2 similar bikes ??

Ill still wait for the bike guru's to give their opinions then see what to do, im not welded to the Kawasaki but when you find a bike that is really well suited to you its hard to trade it especially with under 1k miles on it and £££ worth of farkles on it !!

The pack they come in is £1050 if I remember correctly. There is three items in the pack, fog lights, 12v socket and I can't remember the third. The price looked so ridiculous we questioned it and the guy checked his price list which showed the fog lights at £750, even he agreed it seemed ott.

One of the guys on the SA launch, his photo above, hated the DC box from previous bikes and prejudged it on the AT prior to riding one. After a couple of days testing on and off road he'd change his mind completely and reckoned the DC was better than a manual box.
