Africa Twin is coming

Had confirmation from Honda today that the first batch of bikes have left Japan and are on their way and will be in the dealers mid January (weather dependent).

I have seen knocking around a photograph someone took of the options packs details and prices - its was from a flyer at the NEC i think, has anyone got a copy?

Questions?

How the hell can it cost twice as much to buy a tall seat as it does a low seat ?
What is a pillion step?
What are cowl guard pipes?

Less material.....:green gri

What is a pillion step?

A step for a pillion.....:green gri

What are cowl guard pipes?

A spelling mistake. Should be cow guard pipes. Y'know, like Bull Bars, but less frightening.....:green gri

Otherwise, who knows who makes up this stuff or prices it. :nenau

Good grief the price of some AT parts are shocking. If i were to buy one and kit it out as good as my 1190r it would work out dearer. Thanks Honda but no thanks i will stick to my Ktm 1190r.

Got to NEC early today and had a good look at the AT.

At 6' 3" it felt a bit too dinky for me and they did not have the high seat to try - Honda chap I was speaking to did not even know they were doing one :blast

Liked the look of the bike overall and I am sure they will sell plenty but if I was to change my GSA for a smaller bike think I would go for the Tiger 800 XCX - at £10,200 it's less expensive (the base XC is only £9,100) and has a better specification with centre stand as standard and cruise control plus it comes with WP suspension.

That said I rode the toilet GSA back home via the backroads and enjoyed it far too much to consider changing :D

Coming to a dealer near you.......

Sat on one at the bike show today. Apart from the fact that I would need higher seat seemed like a good bike and if I was looking to change my 1150GS would definitely consider one. Honda rep I was talking to did admit they had been out with a couple of them, a NC750X and a 500X; and they all agreed the best all terrain bike was......

the 500. :D
