Africa Twin is coming

So 103hp at the crank translates to what at the rear wheel after spinning through one (or two transmissions)... 90-95?

crikey, is this not over yet.....

Nope :D

That dyno chart looks bollox to me. I'm not bothered by ultimate output, that's neither here nor there but a power and torque curve that smooth on a properly set up and tuned engine is a rare thing to say the least. On a standard production lump that's bollox.

Mind you, some might say that press bikes are occasionally set up differently to production bikes........................... :green gri

But then again it's a Honda and not a GS so won't need to go to Hilltop as soon as it's dropped out of the showroom !!

Similar ballpark to the HP2... and no one has ever accused the HP2 of being short on power...

I'm sure they did actually dyno it but that's not what I was saying.

I was making the point that you rarely get as smooth a trace on a 'sorted' engine let alone one out of the crate that is emissions and noise compliant.

As such I'd be highly suspicious of a trace like that.

Arsey believes it, so it must be true.:D

I am just used to comparing horse power to the ground, certainly not accusing a 500# bike putting 90+hp at the rear wheel as short on power.

I just bought a 63 plate Tiger 800 XC to use off road whilst waiting for the AT to arrive, and that's almost the same power and weight as the AT and not being funny that's got bags of power obviously not power like my 1190Adv R had but enough for off road and getting there, left me wondering with the bikes ive now got do I really need the AT !!
Im sure it will be a great bike and will have enough power to suffice :thumb

Honda have nailed FI in their recent bikes. Even my Donkey NC750 is faultless on the fuelling.

Just about every inspirational motorcycle travel video and article features bikes with half that power. Yet when it comes to buying their own bikes everyone is convinced that can't ride anything with less than 100bhp. They then sit on the internet instead of getting out and riding the damn things:D

First UK bike are now in the dealers...

First batch of bikes are in the dealers now... have been told today that Honda want all those who have ordered to receive their bikes at the same time.
