Africa Twin is HERE !!!

Im Very Impressed with my TKC80s so much so that I cant tell the difference at all with the road noise at all, and they really do make the bike look so much better, Ill bet they will wear out at the speed of light though !!

A very enjoyable jaunt to Malin Head in Donegal today then back down the Antrim Coast road. 283 miles @ 66 mpg and the first time I've hit 200 miles without the reserve flashing. Everything from motorways to single track, so a real mix of riding conditions. The weather was brilliant too. :thumb2

Beautiful part of the world, can anyone tell me what pressure you are running the conti's at? Got the tyres fitted today and checked the pressures 32/42 are they correct? Manual says 29/36 so do you go higher for the conti's?

I'm running the recommended 29/36 solo. They're the same size hoops, so I don't see why you'd need to run them at a higher pressure...:nenau

I'm running 2.2 bar (32 psi) in the front, this seems to stop the front running wide on mountain roads. I think the KTM 950/990 run about 2.4 bar, this is a similar weight bike with similar size tyres and to my mind handles better than our AT's.

Are you running the oe Dunlops ? My bike (on the Conti TA2's) is as neutral as a very neutral thing everywhere.

Was running the D610 multi-slides now on TA2's.

With the 610's 2-up and loaded had a few front tucking adventures around hairpins in the dry to the point where my wife started to notice. Solo some tail out antics in the wet, getting a bit old for that sort of excitement. I thought the TA2's were the best tyre out of those that I tried on the 1190.

I have given it my best shot but the Africa Twin is not the bike for me, back to a GS I think, and I really did try, so if anyone is after a mint AT with all the toys let me know

Cheers Pete

I'm sure Hurst's will give you a decent trade in anyway :aidan

Is that Tri Color manual? Any more info on the bike (farkles, price)?
I'd rather prefer DCT AT but might consider manual as well...

Radar man wait for a DCT you won't be sorry

Owning a 2014 NC750X DCT and having test ridden AT DCT I know what you mean :thumby:
Will wait when one of you DCT owners will be bored and then we'll make a deal :beerjug:

Has anybody had starting issues from cold.
Bike initially fires up but dies straight away.
Takes sometimes bout ten goes before it idles
Doesn't happen all the time
