After four days away camping this week I've decided the standard screen is pants even with the adjusting bracket, I need to find a better screen, to much rain hitting my face and buffeting
The Honda panniers are shit they leak too, After spending £2200 for the touring pack halve of it is crap and the other halve didn't turn up,

I'll be looking at a set of Ali boxes what type and size has any one fitted, how do you find the racks

Didn't the touring pack come with the touring screen.
I've got batzen adjuster on mine, but I didn't find the standard screen bad at all just needed some fine tuning

That's not good £2200 can buy a lot of aftermarket stuff if you shop right.

I didn't get anything with mine, as with a GS ride it see what you need, buy what's best.
Honda luggage has always been pants cross tourer top box looks like a make up bag.

Baglux and panniers

Baglux looks good-tried a few others--not much success. Will get one.

Panniers-got the holan racks, engine protection and light guard. You get what you pay for. Panniers are good, but racks are just painted and paint a little soft----missing on a few edges---easily rectified. If fitting the light guard as well I found too short and put too much stress on screen holes--lengthened by 6mm did the trick. Panniers could be stolen with a sharp knock with a chisel as just mounted with a rotating lug---lock required but not hard to do. Overall good value and easily sprayed in if damaged.
Standard screen good on wind deflection for my height, 5-9 but lets rain and flies in----touring screen good for me--open helmet at all speeds.
Not far from you kevin graham if you want to look.

I did get the batzen screen adjuster with the standard screen fitted OK in good weather but crap in the wind to much buffeting, in the rain it was useless. I did rise the screen but not much better, I did get the touring screen but it's to high, the problem is the gap at the sides of the screen it's just not stopping the wind,

The bike handled great very happy with the twin over the 1000 miles, I'll be looking at a new screen that is much wider and new panniers.

Bill pm your address I'll come over to have a look
Thanks

Wish I knew this Garry I ordered one from Ebay, got it and it works but would rather of bought one from you

I don't think the bike is a barn door fairing type of bike, MRA do one with a spoiler or touratech with a flip?
You could cut the top of the touring screen as it is wider ?
I didn't like the touring screen top edge was right in my line of sight trimming a couple of inches off might help ?

Just back from a 1500+ mile trip through Wales/England and am pretty happy with Hondas panniers. Plenty of room and they didn't let any water through which considering some of the monsoon conditions was quite amazing. Two gripes....the rearmost mounting slots on each side are slightly marked and closing them can be a bit fiddly. OK, they defo aren't as high a quality as the BM Varios, but then they also can leak like a sieve.

That looks brilliantly simpl. Never been a fan of throttle locks, tried a Kaoko lock on my GS and hated it. I could have done with one this last week as at times I had to pound umpteen motorway miles. PM incoming....:beerjug:

Just to add some feedback on the various screens around......

I'm 6'4", currently wearing the Shoei Hornet Adventure and find that with the stock screen, I get a lot of noise and buffeting, so I've had a tryout on a few screens.

The stock Honda screen is 450mm tall.

Firstly, I tried a larger screen - the Ermax Touring Screen at 500mm tall. This was quieter, but it really caused a lot of buffeting and gave me blurred vision :(

So next up, a much shorter screen (my thinking here was to get my lid in the wind and let it do its job) - the MRA Sports Screen at 380mm tall. This was the complete opposite - no buffeting at all, but lots of wind noise....... :nenau
2-X2.jpg

So then I went back to square one, and put the stock Honda screen back on, but put a couple of 6mm spacers behind the upper mounting screws. This gave suprisingly good results, considering it only pushed the angle out a few degrees, but I still wasn't happy......

Then we had some adjustable screen spoilers arrive in the shop. Now, I've never tried these, and to be honest, have always thought they were a bit gimmicky - but what the heck, I might as well give one a go.

WOW!! - what a revelation - this has completely removed all of the buffeting, and pretty much all of the wind noise - so much so I can ride with the visor up, and easily hear my inner voices at any speed (:D:D:D)

So that's where I am currently, and don't plan on experimenting any further. I haven't tried the MRA Vario Touring, which I suspect will give similar results though.

Hope this helps with anyone looking at different screen options - although I know it is different for every rider :nod

Just back from a ten night tour of Scotland and western isles.
Honda pans leaked like a seize
Alloy boxes on the way
In 1600 mile trip the spokes look horrendous.
Has anyone got a fix for grips yet or spokes from Honda ???

I took my bike in to dealers as it was finding neutral between 3-4 a few time, been in Honda for two weeks, the boxes leaked so they sent them back to Honda, I've told them I don't want them back see what comes back
