Did this all start when you discovered aperture priority?

Are you sure you're an engineer? Perhaps electrical![]()
(That's why they were so shit in the early days ... !!)

I reckon that Honda have got the AT as wrong as they got the VFR1200, but time will tell - there will be a rush of people who have fallen for the hype (just like all new bikes) and then it will all become just a bit so-so. They should have simply modernised the old AT in the same way that they should have just modernised the Blackbird.
I agree that the VFR1200 is a good bike but does it sell? No not really and I suspect that the AT will go the same way because it is not really an AT, just being hyped up as one.
Hope to get a spin soon but hopefully my actual bike might arrive before that![]()
Can I suggest you ride a new AT before telling everybody how it can't work and it's too heavy for skinny tyres etc.Currently you are talking out of your anus.
I think Honda have got it bang on.It looks stunning, especially in tricolour, the weight disappears as soon as you lift it off the sidestand, the whole feel of the bike is wonderful, and the DCT is supposedly very good, especially offroad.Honda haven't chased power figures, they haven't made a bike look like a caricature of itself..........I seriously doubt many GS owners (especially newish ones) getting the thinking behind the AT.What Honda have done is created a very well balanced bike with serious torque and sensible power and adorned it with wonderful suspension and handling.
I've loved the feel of a bike with 21/18 wheels, having had KTM Adventure 950S and then SuperEnduro for the last 12 years.
I've never even ridden a DCT bike but my favourite playground is the Alps and anything that let's you concentrate more on the view and a tad less on the riding is a bonus in my book.
Time will tell if the AT is a success, but the road test blew me away and I'm chuffed I ordered a DCT bike a while back as it seems another impulse buy will pay off.
