I have my 1200GS, but still ended up buying this bike, telling myself it is for my brother who has an 1150GS, but has always been besotted with the Africa Twins.

What are they worth in the real world ?

Thanks guys, I will get it onto XRV when I get my ducks in a row.

Details....

The @ is a 2000 Y-Reg with 13990miles, ie 14k miles. garaged etc.

ALL REMOVED ORIGINAL PARTS STILL WITH BIKE.

Got ram mount and wired in for Zumo 550.
Got smaller indicators.
Crash bars.
Has a Baglux tankprotector and tankbag.
Has Ventura frame and carrier with Ventura tailpack.
Leo Vince pipe and adaptor.
New front tyre, rear almost new.
Tax & MOT till Feb 09.
Previous owner replaced screen because he was obsesive about the bike (all his bikes)
Seat redone and custom built.
Ally chain guard.
Some parts polished as well.

I wanted the bike for my Brother in SA, but his plans have changed a bit, so I will sell it again.
Lucky for me, I want to sell, I do not have to sell, so I can wait for the right buyer, or next year.

If you've just recently bought it then why not just re-advertise it at the same price:nenau

Maybe keep it Grizz

The AT's keep there value and are a excellent bike
They are a bit slower than a BMW and the brake's are not just as powerfull .........

But they are far better looking

The AT is also far better off road than the BM,and the head light is better.
I Would choose a AT before a 1100.
I would think that your AT should be in the 3000 to 3500 price range

all the Best

Exactly what I will be doing.

Paid good money, but not quite top dollar.

Worth keeping, but the 1200GS does what I need at the moment, had a 650 Dakar at the same time before as well, but sold it, as I stopped riding it.

Ms Grizz is a bit of a mad pillion, never misses a ride.

OK Grizz nice to see you again :thumb

ATB with the AT it looks and sounds amazing

I reckon if I were not such a 'dyed in the wool' Germanic it would be my 'weapon of choice' :rob

Good luck with the mad pillion ... I reckon everyone should have one :beerjug:

Hallo Dean,

Good to see you here, Keep in mind, my ride of choice continues to have sticky outty cylinder heads and costs more than it is worth, but I keep going back there too.

It certainly is great to have a pillion who likes what I do, and shares the toy with me.

This Africa Twin is a great little bike for what it does. BUT, I do not want 2 or more bikes in the garage , I also have a trailer, and at least three bicycles in there, along with a bunch of stuff for the Fire engine.
