Evening to All
Sorry to hi jack steve s question but its more a follow up to his .
Recently bought a 2003 1150 ABS servo assisted GS it had the ABS light flashing and i needed to service the bike. Took rear wheel off for new tyre to be fitted and do the bearings etc put it all back together i now have red warning triangle light on and abs light flashing,
Bleed the whole system as it says to do on here still no luck, new battery fitted connections all seem fine etc.
Turn ignition on bike goes through checks leaving triangle red light on and warning light flashing fast, pulling the front brake first feels firm but no whine press rear brake the whine starts and the front will also then make the whine as well. Took it round the block brakes are working as they should but lights are staying on ? I know its easy to say scrap it but feel close to winning and might aswell wait till it goes completely.
Any ideas would a reset fix it ?
thanks

Wire to the rear ABS sender. You probably pulled it too hard when removing the rear wheel. Happened to me. Fixed it with a used low mileage unit off ebay

When you bled the system did you remove the tank and bleed the ABS unit?

John

Hi Lee i did waggle the rear sender about to remove it and taken it out a few times since to make sure its clean and not touching the inner rim as there was no shims behind it . All seemed ok but will double check, hard to say if it works without replacing.
Hi John yes tank been on and off loads of times now to re check things under there . Bleed the unit front and back then the 6 bleed nipples everything topped up.
Wondered if its normal for no whine when i pull front brake first on start up ? it only works after i use the rear first ? from then on it will whine if that makes sense
Thanks

Just went out to the garage and tried mine (2003 1150GS). Turned the key on, pulled the front brake lever (after the "fast flash" self test) and the servo whined away. If mine is normal, yours isn't...

Beyond that I don't even have a wild guess, sorry.

you have knacked some thing up. my sensor is not shimmed but the wheel has a relay thin spacier/shim

Ok thanks for trying that out for me my front brake after self test doesn't whine untill rear is pressed first and after that it does so something might be a miss. All put back together and brakes working with lights flashing so think its time to ride to bm dealer and get it hooked up . Thanks
