I have a 2011 GS, that had a slight weeping of oil which appeared to be coming from the right hand side cam chain tensioner bolt. I’ve undone the bolt and removed it along with a silver collar. There was no crush washer on the bolt, nor at the mating end on the bike.
I’ve ordered a new crush washer, just wanted to check its placement order.. bolt.. crush washer.. then collar.. ( coat the bolt and washer with a smear of clean engine oil ) then tighten to torque 32nm?
Also, I may have made a mistake by not putting to TDC before removing the cam tensioner bolt. The bike hasn’t moved or been started, can I just pop the bolt back in with a new crush washer? Or have I done something wrong that will require some attention before starting the bike up?
