havent even got the bike yet, but am thinking i would like to make it a bit louder, daily commute into london can be a bit dangerous without a louder can, what are the gains, drawbacks of losing the cat? anyone recomend a system, priced up a remus, end can, link pipe and Y piece and its not cheap, any other makes out there?

all advice appreciated

Hi
I dumped the CAT and put a Laser semi race [or was it race?] can on mine when I had one. Great sound. needed a chip if I remember rightly. Dont get the carbon look one - after a while [ a year plus] washing the dirt and grit off rubbed it very thin in places [perhaps I should have taken more care to get it thoroughly wet first!!]

Get looking on some of the second hand for sale sections and find yourself a Remus Grand Prix. There are aoften some for sale on this website. The end can can be used with or without a front silencer . No chip needed - bike runs better in my mind and it makes a loveley throatie deep rumble which doesn't burst yer eardrums.

I put a Lazor system and chip on my Immeasuraby Superior 1100 :thumb sounds great and goes like errrrrrr, well like an 1100 with a Lazor exhaust and chip. ;)

I WAS TOLD THAT MY 1100GS DIDNT HAVE A CAT ,ARE THERE DIFFERANT MODELS

STOP SHOUTING  :D :D

Mine didn`t have a cat......so,yes...there are/were differences.

One of my 1100`s has a Remus twin spout Viper can on the Remus intermediate silencer box.

It`s throatier than stock without being particularly loud.

The other 1100 has a Remus oval titanium Revolution can on the almost straight through Remus 'S pipe'.

It`s as loud as feck.

Neither needed any modifications or setting changes.

Nor is there any problems with panniers melting, etc.

Agree with Tarka on this one.

I too took his advice and fitted a Remus Viper twin spout can and the connector instead of the stock system, and it's loud without being offensive. Easy to fit (once you undo the knuckle grazing clamp off the header pipes :eek ), and looks great...

I paid £180 for the lot for a pipe that'd been on for 1800 miles...mint.

HTH ;)

i had a remus on my first 1100 - loud - 7/10 - got a bit of a 'crack' to it but not much.

current 1100 - laser - loud-ish - a bit 'softer' - 6/10 - innocuous - sounds like a std 60's triumph.

both quieter than a firestorm with twin 'pipes'

I have a 98 1100, currently with a Titanium Remus Revolution, but it's starting to annoy me now, to noisy and the wrong sort of noice (sounds more like a boy racer). I also have a Crome GrandPrix which I think I'm going to re-fit to the bike, shame it's crome so will have to keep it clean and has a nick or two out of it, but It's did sound throwty

Excuse me but do you need my mothers date of Birth as well ?
Just to be on the safe side i have no other items for sale or interest in on ebay just in case that causes you any probs
Jobsworth

Just find it funny how you "seemed" to be doing the guy a favour by pointing out an exhaust on e-Bay.... but for some strange reason didn't want to say it was yours :nenau

As i have placed the item at a cheaper price on ebay i dont think i was trying to rip anyone off so saw no need to
Perhaps you shouldnt judge people by your own humour ?

Still strange for you the seller not to say it was yours.... implies you're trying to hide something even if you're not.

Perhaps you shouldnt judge people by your own humour

and i'm lost on this one :nenau

quote "Just find it funny" wasn't hard to find ?
I dont find it funny at all being falsely accused implied or otherwise

Gypsy.....cool it,fella.

Ebay items are excluded from even the For Sale and Wanted Forum...having their own sub-section....and it`s out of order to post them here....
