Quite like the idea of a 'richer' sound over the stock can (both personal pleasure and to let car drivers know I'm coming through!).

However, I'd be grateful for any advice in respect of the following:

1. Can the standard exhaust simply be replaced, or does it require a dyno set-up (I've heard somewhere that the 12 runs quite lean as standard?);
2. Does changing the exhaust invalidate the warranty?;
3. Anybody had their insurance company increase their premium as a result of changing the exhaust? Anybody tell their insurance company in the first place?;
4. Remus or scorpion, and why (I realise that this is a very personal decision though)?; and
5. Anybody heard rumours of Akrapovic bring something out for the 12?

Cheers & many thanks, Will

1. I haven't and BMW garages don't when they put the pipe on.
2. No - BMW showrooms sell 'em!!
3. Depends on the policy. I've been using cans with removable baffles for the last few years and as they're 'legal' you generally don't have to pay anything. Normally classed as an accessory.
4. I got Remus and am happy. Haven't seen a scorpion on a 12GS, so can't comment.
5. They are, but I think its some gay double barrel pipe thingy like the kwakka z1000.
