Aftermarket replica GSA screen

Well swmbo has for a christmas present :clap

Ordered the the GSA screen with 2 holes to fit my standard GS along with winglets all in light grey tint.

The quality of the screen looks better than the original, thicker material, nice burnished edges etc etc.

Wont be fitting until after christmas as its a pressie and we dont open them before christmas in this house :blast

Will update once fitted.

Mark, I will be interested in how it is when fitted and to see it in the flesh .

148Stu and/or Too loud man, can you give me an update on this aftermarket GSA screen for the GS (without usage of the GSA bracket)? Planning on buying one myself but before paying this big postage amount, want to be sure that it works well. Stu is this the light grey version you have or the dark grey version?
Thanks in advance:aidan

Cheers
Marc

I was looking to buy one of these but the postage to France was €84 :eek a shame but not paying that much. I emailed the seller asking if it was correct and he asked for my location to get a definative price but he has not replied:(

Wow that's a lot! For Antwerp it was 46€ slipscreens told me but not quite clear how I have to purchase it because via Ebay it says 67€ postage. Awaiting seller's proposal how to solve the discrepancy:)

Can we have an update please on the screen? How has it worked , does it wobble a lot etc.
I am keen to try one as my GIVI 330 is a barn door.Really a bit OTT for the look I want....I am annoyed at turbulence from my stock GS screen, but just an extra 50mm will make a big difference, so this screen seems the solution. The only other screen which looks like worth having is the newer MRA vario , but its twice the price of the slipscreen one.
Cheers

I have a Wunderlich screen which is better for turbulence than the standard GSA screen. This one from Devon looks very similar.

A Wunderlich adjustable spoiler on top would pretty much do away with motorway turbulence and it folds out of the way when not needed. Cheaper than the TT fixed version

Hi, I'm new here but have installed this dark tinted screen this weekend and really happy with it.
Same thickness as original BMW one, almost exactly same shape and similar size. Feel solid and was easy to install.

Was planning to post some pics but not sure of the best way to post on here (sure I've seen a post on this but can't find it anymore...)

Use photobucket for pictures and insert the link.

My Wunderlich screen is 6mm acrylic and has no holes for the GSA additional brace but works fine. The one advertised on eBay (from Dorset or somewhere) is also 6mm so I guess much the same.

Anyone fitted one of these

He does clear, smoke and dark and the spec looks ok. I still think I would rather have a GSA screen support if I was fitting to a GS. :nenau

Does matching winglets too,

Hmmmmm, just clicked on the link and got the following response:

This listing (261125383314) has been removed, or this item is not available.

Anyone know if this guy is still trading and if so, can they post a new link.

Ta,

MM

Hi guys
I have just bought one of these screens for my GS ( not adventure)...its big !
Wider and taller than stock. Very thick quality.Only issue is the stepped adjusters dont fit as snug as the stock screen, I think he may have sent me a GSA screen as it looks like there is room for the brace bar .I did specify GS btw.:blast
Has anyone with this screen had same issue on a GS?
I dont think I have fitted the adjusters wrong way up as the tab has to travel in the slot .It just looks like the screen is too curved at that point. My stock screen is quite flat where the adjusters fit.
Other than that , it looks impressive.
Will go for a ride and see how it shapes up.

Had a good couple of rides over the weekend to check out the screen .
Its good for sure. An improvement without doubt on the stock screen. Best bit is the height is about right for me and at most speeds I can ride with visor open. Turbulence is reduced, almost absent at most speeds too. There is a little negative pressure behind the screen but not too much. Major fault is the wingnut serrated adjusters dont fit nicely together ( ie mesh correctly) as they should. If screen is in full height position they seem to line up almost but not quite right. At lower positions its totally out of synch and am worried something might break as its all down to screw pressure holding screen at this angle. I have asked slipscreens to check they have sent right screen and they have sent an email with a number to ring. Didnt get chance today so will try tomorrow.
Has any other GS owner had this issue, or is it just me ?

The screen does wobble a bit at speed but this is a thick screen. I have had the bike up to its maximum speed with no issues.
It is noisier than stock though, so earplugs are a definite.
I have some winglets to fit too, and can see they will make a difference, I can feel the turbulence rushing off the side of the beak..

But for £65 so far , if I can resolve the adjuster issue, its a good buy.:beerjug:

I have a Wunderlich screen that also does not fit quite right around the screw adjusters. Its very important to get the three prongs in correctly but even then its not quite right. But after a few thousand miles there have been no problems.

The slip screens win by allowing the ADV top brace. The Wunderlich is too narrow and no way is 6mm polycarb going to spring another few on each side. That said its so solid the brace is not really needed.

To reduce turbulence fit some tobinators and tilt the screen angle back. Too steep causes a suction effect behind the screen.

Pitternator,

I have absolutely no problem with the adjuster on mine and no wobbling at all .
Riding at hmmm not really legal speed with visor opened is comfy for me and I'm 6" tall.
Might be a good idea to check with them if right screen.
The only issue was the lower fixing needed a bit of drilling/adjusting to the right diameter. But easy done and was installed in 15 min.

Roders, what di I do wrong with the pics? is it not ok to just add the link?
