Can anyone help with advice/experience of using aftermarket (sargeant or other) seats on their GS

Something to improve comfort for rider and pilliuon would be an improvement

Thanks

I've gone the Sargeant route, cus the standard GSA one is crap.

The Sargeant firstly seems very hard with not much "give" but it put's your arse in a better position and is a definate improvement on the original.
I think it looks far better as well.:augie

Bloody expensive though for what it is.

Initially the Sargent seat seems hard and awkward as it positions you differently on the bike....but once 'bedded in' they are brilliant.

I never found the standard GSA seat that bad, but it's a huge improvement.....but agree that it is expensive....but if you buy one their re-sale value is very good if you don't get on with it, or change bikes.

I didn't get on with the Sargent and found that I was getting numb bumb after one hour in the saddle. I also had a seat modified by Motorcycle Seatworks, but it too only gave me one hour before the dreaded numb bum. The answer for me was a Russell Day Long saddle which gives me all day comfort.

sargent seat has worked for me on my GS, am happy with 5 hours in the saddle before getting a bit sore, and even then its not as bad as when i used the original seat :thumb2

Had a Sargent on my 12 also. Simply the best mod I bought for it. You also get a good wedge back should you decide to move it on.

I recently got a Bagster one. It's great because you can pick all the colours/materials for the panels, piping etc. Only cost £250 for both rider and pillion (sending my old ones away to them) and the new seat is much more comfy. You can also add or remove a bit of height and have gel inserts etc. I think they also do a single or double piece aftermarket (without sending your old one) is about £350.
