Hi all
last few weeks I'm playing with my suspension setup front ohlins rear elka
I would like to know correct front and rear sag for r1200gs
I found different setup for ohlins and Wilber's witch one is correct ?
Wilber's
"According to Ted Porter from the Beemershop (where I bought my wilbers!) the GS suspension should be setup as follows:
Front Static Sag: 38mm

Front Dynamic Sag: 48mm

Rear Static Sag: 30mm

Rear Dynamic Sag: 60 mm "
Ohlin recommend
Front dynamic Sag 30- 35 mm
Rear dynamic Sag 35-40 mm
What is your suspension setup for touring ?

Probably because with around 200mm of travel it doesn't make much difference. If the units, especially the front, top out frequently you maybe need more sag. Otherwise don't worry, just ride it.

Choose less sag with softer springs because the free movement is more likely to take up all of the travel. But logically a softer spring will sag more with weight on it.

Not much help am I? :(

Just set one of the static sag options and ride it. But, Ohlins charge enough - they should at least be providing detailed set-up instructions.

why not try both and see which you like? or go really wild, and freestyle something in between?

Thanks Already did :thumb

Just need a basic setup to start of

For the front
Factory spring preload or static sag
Rear at least static sag

Many Thanks

Per the Ohlins Mounting instructions the sag (with the rider on board) for the Front should be 50-60mm and the Rear 30-40mm

Can't help with the technical question mate but you did seem to be throwing the bike round corners perfectly the other week in France :beerjug:
