Just downloaded this, is it any good?

Tried to renew my Norton anti-virus, but 3 of the items within the "one button check up" would not work. To their right it stated "no scanner available" or something similar. Their website for a semi iliterate computer novice like me was a nightmare, after much searching i managed to find the refund page. Waiting to see if they do.

AVG - been using it for years - never a problem.

you'll need to configure xp firewall to allow it through manually - exceptions

Also been using it for ages.......it found things that Norton and Macafee didn't find when I initially installed it, so that was an impressive start.

It's getting very popular though, and this can cause a few delays in the downloading of the update files....having said that, it's been much better in the last few weeks now that we're clear of the v7 release.

AVG is the best; and totally soldier proof with it.

I use AVG free-version and maintain glee in all areas...so do all the relations. Wife uses Sophos, and says that's the best, but somebody with money from work is paying.

Norton Antivirus may catch the odd oddball virus a couple of days earlier but organises something rather like the baath party in the innermost gizzards of your computer. Secure it may be be; but never again glad morning. Long ago I've banished it to the car boot sale box.

Excellent on the kids machine. Used the free edition for ages and never a problem. Mind you I use a Mac so I wouldn`t really know anything about them virus thingees.;)
