Look good, only £165 online... and got an internal sun visor which I like the idea of...

Anyone had any experience of them?

So I got it, tried it out and the visor slams closed above 65mph.

And the inner sun visor vibrates like hell above 40mph.

And it whistles annoyingly at most speeds, so I want to send it back.

I called the shop to ask for a 'return number' so I can send it back for a refund and they went on about how "no helmet should be worn with the visor open above 30mph"

What?

I wear my helmet visor open throughout the entire summer with shades on and I have it open a crack during the winter to stop fogging.

What the hell are they on about?

I then tried to say I just want to return it regardless thanks, they skirted round the issue saying "they'd contact AGV and get back to me"

Huh? I don't care what AGV say, I'm not happy with the helmet and want to return it.

I get the impression I'm in for some hassle?

"No quibble returns policy" my arse

Grrrrr.

If you bought it online, you are covere by the distance selling regulations, which state you can return ANYTHING within 14 days. Be careful they don't string you out - get an email off to them so at least you have evidence you complained within the time allowed.

..and if you bought it retail and a salesperson confirmed to you that it would be OK to ride it at 65mph with the visor open, then they also have to take it back.

Spoke to their manager today, a much more reasonable/human guy!

Basically the issue is that I went out for a ride to try it out and that it's now technically 'used'. I pointed out that I could have stood in the shop for an hour with it on my head to 'test it' and it would have been more 'used', but that I'm being honest and the helmet is completely 'as new' (better actually since I buffed off a few smudge marks ;))

However, we reached a compromise - I'm sending it back and he'll inspect it - if it looks perfect (which it does) then he'll refund me.

He understands my viewpoint, I understand his position. Just hope he sees it my way ultimately.

If not, then he'll send it back to me and it'll go on eBay.

I'd stick to your guns mate. I have an AGV K4 which I bought early this year, and that fecking thing whilstles all the time too. Sadly I bought it in the January sale and didn't actually use it until about April, so I'm stuck with it. Ear plugs take the edge off, but I'm still conscious of it the whole time...
