Bought mine in June 2023 from Infinity in York and it has outperformed my past Schuberth lids and think it is an excellent lid , however, today I have received a voluntary safety recall notice on the helmet due to potential failure of part of the chin strap locking mechanism .
Apparently if they say the part cannot be replaced the helmet will be replaced with a new one.
Looks like a trip down to York is on the cards

Who/how are you contacted? My wife and I both bought ours around the same time as you.

Ours came from Sportsbike Shop in Leeds

Just spoke to Infinity in York , basically drop the lid off and it is sent away for the clasp to be replaced (7 to 10 days) and them it is sent back to me .
If the clasp cannot be replaced you get a new helmet

I’ve just spoken with Sportsbike Shop. I’m taking ours in on Monday.

The guy said that according to their system, the TourModular is now on “stop sell”, so he thinks it’s entirely likely that they’ll just credit the price of the helmet.

The concern is that we have the integrated comms, which only fit that helmet. We’ll have to see what they say if/when that becomes an issue.

I was recommended to remove the comms from the helmet before taking it in Mine is from Pactalk ,I hope Sports Bike shop is wrong regarding the "stop sell" because I either want mine fixed or a new one the same.

We too don’t want to find a different helmet as we love them.

The built in comms are great - Cardo based, but the battery lasts miles longer than the externally mounted Cardo Bolds that we previously had.

I’ve removed the comms and the wife will drop them off at SBS tomorrow. I’ll update with what they decide to do.

Just realised I wasn’t clear. What I meant is that the comms only fit that helmet, so if they can’t replace the helmet with the same model then the comms are useless. I removed the comms ready to take the helmets back for a (hopeful) fix.

Replaced or refunded? Not sure which you mean
Money refund. They are not for sale anymore, or at least werent when I last checked.

They do check the serial number though, before hand, so it may be that there are some that are not affected.

It will be interesting what they do about the comms if they have to refund, as they were purchased together (no VAT on comms if bought with a helmet)

Well, I was in a similar situation regarding Comms, BUT,, I got my comms for free (promotion) when I purchased the Helmet. I did manage to keep the comms as they do fit another AGV model of helmet. I did get the impression though that if I had purchased the Comms, they would not have refunded for that.. Things may have changed though.

Hope that’s not the case, as we’ll be out of pocket by £250 each.

Out of interest, how long did the process take?

About 10 minutes. They checked the receipt/system, checked the helmet serial number and got an immediate refund to the credit card.

That’s good, as the guy on the phone thought they’d have to send it away for a decision to be made

I have. Ours are affected according to the serial numbers. It was more about how SBS handled it. The info on AGV website says it’ll be sent away, which is what Neil has been also told by Infinity. Your experience seemed to be better, certainly in terms of timing.
