AGV Tourmodular Safety Recall

Question,if they decide to replace the helmet,which would be a shame because my Tourmodular is the best helmet I have worn in ages,is a Street Modular similar?Assuming the Tourmodular isn't available any more and it cost me over £400 when I bought it at the beginning of the year.
 
Just to add to the confusion, my wife dropped ours off today at SBS. They said that they are being repaired and will be back in a week.

It’s odd, given that they can’t actually sell them or get any from the UK distributor, but we’ll have to wait and see.
 
Helmet is still a current model according to the AGV Website , hopefully they are doing recall work using parts intended for new builds as it is one of the best helmets I have had in years
 
Been to Infinity today to drop off the helmet and told it should be back within 2 weeks. Asked and was informed that the Tourmodular is still and will remain a current model although at the moment it has a sales stop on the model until the remedial work on already sold helmets have been carried out .

Call from Infinity today and my helmet has been returned to them after it's repair and is being posted back to me today (so basically 17 days from me dropping it off to Infinity getting it back ). Now just got to make sure it is actually my lid that is actually returned !!!!!

I’m in a similar position. Got a message from DPD saying my Sportsbike Shop package is on the way. No comms from SBS, but it’s all it can be as I’ve not ordered anything.

Interestingly, my wife has had nothing despite her dropping both our lids off together at SBS on 19/09.

Rather annoyingly, I’m in for surgery on Monday and won’t be able to ride for 8 weeks.
 
To update, my wife chased SBS to find out what was happening with her helmet. They’ve replied “we were unable to make the modification to your helmet. Please choose between an alternative helmet or a full refund”.

She’s now in discussion with them, as (like I mentioned above) she has the AGV comms which will only fit the Tourmodular and so are now useless to her

Worth pushing them as to when the Tourmodular will be on sale again , could be worth waiting for a replacement one

SBS have no idea when they’ll be available again from them, and she’s itching to get out on her bike.

They’re still available from AGV direct, and seem to be cheaper now. She’s emailed to check that the website is accurate and that the ones they’re selling don’t suffer from the issue. If they’re ok she’ll just buy from there.

The one that turned up from SBS today isn’t mine. Different colour, size, it’s filthy and scratch, and has stickers all over it. I’m not amused!

They’re now trying to track down where my helmet has gone.
 
I’ve just spoken with Sportsbike Shop. I’m taking ours in on Monday.

The guy said that according to their system, the TourModular is now on “stop sell”, so he thinks it’s entirely likely that they’ll just credit the price of the helmet.

The concern is that we have the integrated comms, which only fit that helmet. We’ll have to see what they say if/when that becomes an issue.
If you have purchased said intercoms at same time as the helmet*, then I’d imagine they will have to credit you in full including the intercoms.

*when buying intercom and lid at same time/transaction, you qualify for a -20% ‘discount’, which is actually a removal of VAT from the transaction, due to helmet being PPE and VAT does not apply to such an item. Technically the intercom should be fitted to the lid by a trained member of staff at the time of purchase, but not many places bother with that, and let you the customer faff with it instead.

They’ve just rang and confirmed it’s actually still at the supplier and hasn’t been repaired yet.

Sent mine off to Moto Direct; AGV IK importer. They have one person who can check/repair them!!! Mine was damaged when being repaired so credit note issued back to Infinity, my purchasing retailer. But as noted by others; there are no new AGV’s in the U.K. due to the issue. So no one I have spoken to had a clue as to when AGV are going to release a new batch of helmets to the U.K.
This is a massive inconvenience and I will be looking for some sort of compensation.

Not just UK suppliers , German and other European suppliers have pulled stocks from shelves, similarly no longer listed for sale in USA, Australia etc and non of the Importers websites state when they will be available.

Might be interesting if anyone is going to the Milan show if they ask on the AGV stand
 
You can still buy them from AGV direct. My wife purchased one on Monday as her original couldn’t be repaired so SBS refunded. It arrived today, direct from AGV in Italy, and as a bonus cost her £70 less than she paid for her original in 2023.

We were originally cautious as the serial number of the new one matched the batch of faulty ones. We contacted Dainese and they confirmed that the ones being shipped from AGV have been checked and don’t suffer the issue, even if the serial number matches the faulty batch. On the outside of the box is a sticker with the certificate of authenticity - on that sticker should be a little blue or green round sticker indicating that the helmet has been checked for the recall and not affected. There’s no visible way to tell just by looking at the helmet itself.

There’s still no sign of mine coming back, despite them having it for 4 weeks.
