If you closed it without saving then probably not. Do you have autosave enabled? I'm working on a Macbook pro. It's been some years since I've used word on a PC. I use Google Docs now which auto saves. Sometimes if the computer crashes you can recover the word doc but only if it has been autosaving

Depends on your autosave settings, I think the default is about five minutes, open word and see if its in the pulldown menu.

look for a file in your default directory for word with today's date and the name of which starts with a ~ (this is a word temporary file)
