It works for me Nick, anyone else got a problem opening it?
Anyway, here is some info on the ride.
Information
The 'Ride around Wales' has been organised to raise money for the Wales Air Ambulance.
Wales Air Ambulance is an all Wales charity providing a vital service through emergency air cover for those who face life-threatening illness or injury.
There are three Air Ambulance helicopters based in Wales, one in Swansea, one in Caernarfon and one in Welshpool.
These helicopters are completely funded by voluntary contributions from members of the public.
The Wales Air Ambulance supporters have to raise in excess of three and a half million pounds a year to keep the service running and this is where you as a motorcycle rider can help.
By registering and joining the 'Ride around Wales' event and raising as much money as you can, you will not only be riding some of the best roads Wales has to offer, through stunning scenery and having a good time. You will also be helping to raise much needed money to keep this vital service going.
Background
If you are still unsure you want to take part, please take a look at some of the statistics below.
During 2008 in the county of Powys, there were 196 motorcycle collisions that resulted in injury, these range from slight through to fatal injuries.
By conventional ambulance it can take over an hour to reach a major hospital from the Mid Wales area.
If something unfortunate happens to you in Mid Wales, you have a choice of three hospitals to get to: Aberystwyth, Hereford or Shrewsbury, and when you need them the most they are always a long way away.
Bearing in mind the 'Golden Hour' this is where the Wales Air Ambulance come into their own:
*
Airborne within three minutes of receiving a 999 call.
*
Arriving at the location within their area, inside of twenty minutes.
*
Finally arriving at a major hospital within another twenty minutes.
Every call the Wales Air Ambulance attends costs an average of £1000.
Hopefully you will never need the service of the Wales Air Ambulance but if you do, you will be glad you joined us on the day and took part in raising money for this vital service.
If you are unable to take part in the 'Ride around Wales' but would still like to contribute to the Wales Air Ambulance fund, you can send cheques made payable to:
"Ride Around Wales"
PO Box 134, Welshpool, Powys, SY21 1AH
All monies raised through 'Ride around Wales' will be donated to the Wales Air Ambulance.
Although the route shown starts and finishes in Mid Wales Airport, you can join the ride at any point and travel in either direction.
If you have not pre-registered by using the link on this site, you must call in at one of the 3 registration points during your trip. Otherwise you will not be deemed to be taking part in the 'Ride around Wales'.
If you have any queries, please contact us.
