a previous owner of my gsa 05 has drilled 3 10mm holes in the top lid of the airbox is this some sort of mod for the bm"s i would have thought with having a intake tube the engine would rely on airbox pressure especially at speed but i could be wrong:confused:

They might have been used to mount something, like a centech fuse panel.

Just re-read it an it's not 3mm holes but 10mm ones, so ignore my suggestion. :thumb

put some gaffa tape on the holes and see if it works better or worse. Report back agent derby dave:comfort

I might have an old airbox lid if its of any use... :nenau I will have a scout around at the weekend.

i have gaffa taped the holes up for the time being but cant roadtest as i am waiting on some hypro springs that i ordered on the 1st from motoworks who have let me down 3times on the del date complete waste of time they are anyway thats another topic Carl if you have a spare lid yes please there is also a round thing that is supposed to be fixed to the lid this is just tucked under the tank no bracket?? to fix down, somebodys been playing;) strange as its got full bm service history last one at rainbow

That's the diagnostic plug. Doesn't need to be mounted onto the lid if you don't want to.

Do not remove the lid on the round thing unless it's upright. Otherwise you'll spill all the motronic juice.

aha wondered what the round thing was going back to the drilled holes they are on the outer side of the filter, last time i throttled it in anger:augie there was a lot of airbox howl if you know what i mean which got me wondering about the airbox pressure thing

Dave..

I found the airbox lid, but it's the earlier 1100 type with clip fastenings rather than the screws.
