Does anyone have the large pillion airhawk fitted to their 1150 Gs ?
Need to try one as the wife has a damaged coccyx which limits running time to 40 miles which is not good.
I live just south of Stratford upon Avon and would be grateful to try one.

Any one else had this problem resolved with one ?
Is the small pillion the better fit ?
Will it fit on the 1200 pillion ?
Do I need to abandon her in a service station/ditch:augie ?

Any help/info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Rich.

I have been using the medium Airhawk on my bike for a 15k+ miles and find it very comfortable. First used on a tour of Norway where I was doing consistent 300-400 mile days for 2 1/2 weeks. Very once felt saddle sore & have left it on the bike ever since. The beauty of Airhawk is that you can easily adjust the amount of air & cushioning effect, and it is transferrable between bikes (unlike expensive custom saddles).

I fix my Airhawk to the frame rails with a couple of velcro ties which you can get in Ikea electrical for pennies; they are meant as cable ties.

Airhawk do a cheaper verision for £70 which is what I use. If you don't like it, easily sold again on e-bay.

My wife has used the large pillion Airhawk for the last couple of years on a GS 1150 and 1200 and never had a moments problem. We've just finished 4500 miles up to Nordkapp, down to St. Petersburg and back through Holland. Not one ache:thumb:thumb:thumb

I've got the medium for me and the smaller one for the pillion. We used it last year on a 5000 mile trip to Eastern Europe. Excellent comfort.

You can borrow it to try it out if you are down my way. Send me a pm.

Cheers guys,

will try the camping option then probably move onto the Airhawk.
Would still like to try one first, perhaps a trip down to the retailers is in order.

Thanks again,

Rich.

Rich - Airhawk do a full money back guarantee. You just need to keep the packaging. Speak to Les from TravelDri-Plus who will give you good advice. It's a no-risk way of trying it.

I have the large pillion pad on my 1150 and it's got the thumbs up from my pillion over several thousands of miles. Don't know about the 1200, but I think it should be just as good. I'd happily lend you mine - but it's in constant use :D
