That was the only thing I wasn't 100% sure about. Anyone got a photo of what it should look like?

Simple, an original Paris Dakar doesn't have one - but just in case you haven't seen this picture elsewhere...

I've just fitted Mitas C-O2's to mine. Loads more traction offroad than TKC's but trying to stop on wet tarmac has been intresting.

Good job I've a 2nd set of wheels with TKC's

Is that screen not an HPN item?

There ISN'T a fairing ! Just the clock surround moulding..all will be apparent when she arrives :)

Cool, I can't wait to see her :)

Ooh just seen Judges photos, thats what I want it to look like. Spot on.

It kinda just looks abit big to me, best wait and see what its like in the flesh.

Ok I'll see what I think when it turns up next week. I'm in Cornwall all week camping so I can see I'm going to have to sneak away for one day and blast back to Proff mansions to see it.

Looks like a great bike Trippy and hopefully you did not have to pay over the odds like you usually do for the same bike in Blighty :thumb2
:mmmm So Proff's off to Germany, wonder what else he will bring back?

No I think it came at a good price and yep the old duffers off on monday I think.
He's a star :thumb2

Pirelli

Pirelli MT21's are a good tyre...Better than TKC's off road and fine on the road...I have used them on my Airheads and rate them :thumb2
But they are a lot more fun fitted to this :hide

The fairing is an Acerbis one...hence the stylised Acerbis 'A' just above the headlight on either side.

HPN may well have supplied it at their ridiculously inflated prices, but it`s an Acerbis moulding.

This fairing was originally used on the Marlboro Dakar Beemers

You know me so well Devon

It's a nice run to Stuttgart:reynolds
BUT to ease temptation I'm only taking the Erde single bike trailer.
1600 mile round trip, and the little trailer is a peach behind the 205 td.
3 bike trailer tows great but weighs 50 kg more and is not as aerodynamic 40 mpg as against 46 mpg avg.:eek and knocks the average speed down quite a lot:(

Flying over was too expensive >> £395 1 way and only from Brum:(
unless waiting till Sept and then £145...
Plus transit plates etc

Nice one Tarka:thumb2 I knew I'd them before on PD g/s's..

HPN still sell it. It is used on the standard Adventure-model and it has been used on a lot of their competion bikes. The price for the kit is around 550€ (including some customized parts). A few years ago the price for the fairing (no other parts) was 150-200€.

It looks a bit better on a taller bike:

Seeing that pic Garry...............i'm nearly on the hook:augie.........after our conversation last night

I have been happy using MT21s for the last ten years - they do it for me on the G/S :thumb

No matter what anybody says Trippy...loose that fecking awfull fairing :thumb

I agree with Rob ...
But if the original bits are missing it will cost a small fortune to return it to original
