Looks like there are enough forum members and Francophiles to set up a French event in the future: Frog Roast anyone?
Not such a bad idea, I have the space, the place and the interest

I will give any airhead meetings a miss, I prefer my1200GSA (yes I know they are crap!) and I can't stand the smell of urine or pipe tobacco!![]()

There is a good BMW R1200GS Oilhead breakdown service, with recovery vehicles, that constantly trawl the Autoroutes of France...I think that they have 10 such vehicles in the summer months and guarantee to get to you within a 12 hours ........their nickname, in English, is "final drive" as that is what happens to most 1200 owners when they venture more that 5 kms from home........they do very good business I believe..........so if we did see you...........you would probably be on the back of a recovery truck

I've had it three years now without any problems so maybe I can try going further than the shops on it? Wouldn't dare take it on the autoroute as it might rain and then it would melt
Pity that recovery vehicle wasn't around when my PD liquidised its FD!![]()
You would be invited as you are an airhead owner (come out of the closet), not sure if you smell of urine or tobacco but I can stink for both of us. We will try to arrange a meeting ASAP before your bike dissolves![]()

You were obviously riding your PD improperly and are not riding your 1200 properly as they are supposed to break down, (regularly)
Wonder what I am doing wrong with the 1200? Maybe I should try some of the other gears and not stay in 1st all the time
