converting R65 twinshock to GS type.Have old R65 twin shock in garage and fancy modifying into trail type bike. ie longer forks mono rear etc .to make small light GS type.Any info or parts appreciated.Running R1100RT at moment for touring so R65 is for spare bike, as cant afford decent GS.. . .

Mono rear will not fit without major work.
lot easier to move the shocks forward like 101 [sycos] twin shock HPN airhead.
21" wheel is easy and if you are lucky enough to have twin disc hub just have 21" rim laced on :thumb2

More advice when I'm sober :D:D

Proff .New to site so hope youve recieved this.Wheels of R65 are cast so need spoked wheel /forks or longer stauntions?Could move back shocks as you said but would need hub/spoked rear wheel. Thanks for contacting, any info/parts appreciated, somebody must have done a modded R65/twinshock.Have engineering background,so capable of welding etc.Bike doing nothing,so fancy having a go at it.Reguards.

Give James Sherlocks or Motorworks a call...they know which parts are ( roughley ;) ) transferable.

Proffs suggestion of moving the shock bases towards the swing arm mounts is the way to go...looks trick as well :thumb2
