I’ve recently purchased a used Akra exhaust and the washers used between the bolt fixing the heat shield to the header are missing. They appear to be of a fabric type construction, presumably to dissipate the heat. Does anyone know where I can pick any up? Has anyone replaced these with stainless versions or alternatives - did it cause any issues?
I’m not sure if carbon fibre would melt if in direct contact with the header.

Thanks

they are poor in quality and easily lost/fall apart
i used to have them on a ZZR performance sport and just replaced them with small steel washers to stop the heat shield rattling

I have the Akra and know these washers well. Personally I'd get some fibre washers from eBay as I think their purpose is to prevent the carbon cracking when you tighten up the screw.

Heat will get to the cover through the screw & radiated heat from the main silencer too, so I don't see it's a heat insulation washer.

Akrapovic wouldn't use a specialist washer if they didn't need to!

..in my experience these washers almost crimp the thread as they compress once tightened up.. Irrelevant really if yours aren't there though.

Bit late for me but for reference I also contacted Akrapovic directly, performance parts in the uk stock replacements should anyone else need them.
