Hi

Apologies if this has been asked before but what is the difference between a Euro 3 and Euro 4 compliant end can. It appears that both will fit my 2017 bike.

Thanks

Steve

no difference in sound unless your inclined to ride without baffles.

I see people stating this a lot, but this article seem to disagree. It looks like exhaust manufacturers have to comply
with a new Euro 4 decibel rating for dynamic measurements. Euro 4 drops it from 80dB to 77dB. This would indicate that
that the Euro 4 exhausts must be at least a little bit quieter when at speed.

If that is the case then the euro 3 is less strangled even with the baffles in.
The noise the euro 3 makes with the baffles out is a nice deep tone, missus doesn't mind the noise. I asked if she wanted the std can back on when we were touring and she said she didn't mind the noise if makes.
Mind you I don't thrash the bike when I have a pillion.

I find the Akra quite droney on Autoroutes, I left the baffles in as it didn't seem to make much difference to the sound with standard headers. Sounds good when opening it up though and the GSAP upshifts gives a nice bark when the ignition cuts.
Looks better too.
