Akrapovic, every time. BMW & Akrapovic work together when making an exhaust, the others are just aftermarket.
Plus, you won't pay any more to insure a bike with a BMW sourced Akra, and the Akra will hold around 75% of its original value, should you ever want to sell it.

This true as well....But Akras are much more expensive...
True,but it amazes me that people are happy to pay £16-18k for a bike then for the sake of £200 or so, fit an end can that may not be optimised for their bike.
It's why I always fit Akras on my KTMs- Akrapovic and KTM have been working together for years and that's why KTM sell the Akras as official accessories .
BMW and Akra have a similar relationship,though not as long-standing.....

Had Akrapovics on my Strrte triple and they were great.
Had Termignonis on my Ducati and they were good.
But as suggested that Akrapovics are the ? BMW approved. Then this may swing it in its favour.
AKRA for me too for the reasons given above.

You can buy a BMW HP Akra from any dealership for RRP£860 but I'd always try to get a minimum of -10%. You need to think as well about your bike here as there are two versions out there. Euro 3 and latest Euro 4. BMW official part can only be purchased as a Euro 4 but if you buying elsewhere you can still buy Euro 3 versions as these will carry on be manufactured due to the amount of Euro 3 bikes out there. The difference between the two is at the inlet port, Euro 3 = 1 into 2 (Y piece) and removable db baffles, Euro 4 = 1 into 1 and has integral non removable db baffles. If your bike is Euro 4 and you buy a cheaper Euro 3 can, then travel to mainland Europe and get pulled over you can end up loosing your bike as according to distributor they (cans) are appropriately marked. I was advised to go with Euro 3 if I wasn't going to leave UK on my bike but since my bike is Euro 4 and I am going away to France etc., I will have to have a Euro 4 can. Euro 4 cans are around £100 more expensive over Euro 3.

Ps you can speak to Chris B at calsport, he is a top bloke and very informative as well as reasonable, he went to the point of suggesting I try to buy a can from BMW first as I may have better chance of getting a bargain. No bulshit, just straight on advise and recommendation. Have a chat wit him, you will not be disappointed.

I've got a Euro 3 can on my Euro 4 bike as I want it LOUD. Those Euro boffins can go fuck themselves.
I shall be riding the bike all over Europe this summer, as I always do. Never had an issue before. I shall report back from prison if they stop me. Mmm, porridge.

I asked my dealer, as I didn't actually order the Euro 3 silencer deliberately. They said that as it's an aftermarket part, if linked to a fault with the engine will invalidate the warranty. As will the Euro 4 silencer. Happy days.

But BMW are supplying the Akra Euro 4 exhausts themselves.
Akra every time, the others are generic end cans with a strap bracket to fit a particular bike.
The Akra is pupose built to fit the GS and matches the OE can, it fits no other bike as the bracket is welded to the can, it is solid as a rock and thats why it costs more, with higher residuals the overall cost is no more.
When reselling the bike the Akra can (especially the BMW HP) is seen as a bonus the others are not.

Going to get slated for not towing the Akra line, but well overpriced, as your paying for all the sponsorship they provide to numerous race series. (Yamaha/Ducati Moto GP teams etc).
I don't think they are built any better than other quality makes............. But hey, it's your money.

It's an end can - as far as performance goes........... there is no difference. Forget tales of "Akrapovic working with BMW" - that may make a difference to a front to back full race exhaust - but not for a mere end-can (even for an awesome "Triple black" 
....... as one fella mentions.

Once again - it's a shagging end-can............. not a space-shuttle booster rocket !

Them MIVV is a fine looking exhaust but my mate fitted a carbon Termignoni to his new Triple Black and it's the best looking exhaust I've seen so for on the LC GS's
