Alarm fob for LC GS/ GSA

I also have the fob for mine and would like it to beeb on arming but dont know how to do it any can body tell me how to do ,thanks ,,bob

I got a couple of fobs coded yesterday, would like beep to, did you get an answer roadchefbob?

I have a early 2014 GS LC.
I have an alarm fob, the bike had to be coded to accept it.
Works well, but I can not get any beeps as it sets, disarms or set to ferry mode.
I have it set to on with the options set in the RDC.
However I am very pleased with this addition as I can set it to ferry mode as I wheel the bike out of my garage, no longer do I have to have the ignition on as I wheel the bike out.
Well worth it.

The fob has Ferry mode? where? how?

I have the keyless start on a 15 WC GSA and Dick Lovett Bristol are trying to code the alarm to the 2 buttons on the folding key. I'll let you know how they get on. If it doesn't work then they use a K1600 fob at approx. £36 VatInc instead (they have done this on a couple of GS's already.:thumb

Should get 3 beeps to confirm ferry mode. If you can find a manual for the alarm it might tell you how to reprogram with the key and a fob. ( I know it does for the previous alarm dwa 6)

I get three flashes of indicators but no beeps? I brought my GS second-hand and didn't get an alarm manual with it and there is nothing in the main manual?

Why do you want it to beep? You get flashing indicators to tell you alarm state....if you cant see them flashing then there are much bigger problems ahead...

Simples really, when standing by the seat with panniers on and in bright sun light you can't see if indicators flash! and being blind but only being half deaf I should be able to hear a beep!!!!!!!!

So stand where you can see the indicators then....the alarm is operated by a remote control after all.

They are really quite visible, even in bright sun light.

Do you know who sorted it at SBW as they seem unaware? What did they charge you.
Many thanks. Brian

Hey tecman and brianmaslen im going SBW in the morning to try and get this done. Are either/both of you able to tell me who helped you from SBW and what it cost in the end?

Thanks

I've just bought a 16 plate GSA and Williams say it cannot be done on this model, I have had it done on the XR and one a GS previously, it's really pissing me off

Same happened to me in June - apparently 16MY onwards alarms cannot have the fob coded - they want you to have keyless and use that fob to set the alarm. In the end I just set it to auto arm in the obc.

I dealt with Steve from service department. I think I paid 40 or 50 for fob and labour.

Thanks tecman.

Looks like if you have keyless ride the key can be coded for the alarm. Video linked below on an RS but same key and surely the same alarm.

My question/issue is if I bought a brand new GSA with the BMW alarm and keyless ride why was the fob not programmed like the guys in the video?!?! Poor service.

Hi all,

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but thought it would be better than starting a new one....

I'm looking to get an alarm fob sorted for my 2013 LC R1200GS, but the local motorrad dealer (Carlisle) say it isn't possible to use a K1600 fob and get it programmed.

Anyone else in the Sothwest Scotland / Cumbria area managed to get one sorted? And if so, where abouts did you get it done?

Could do with one as I'm starting to get a reputation at work for having my alarm go off when getting my stuff out of the top box!

Cheers!
