Evening all.
So, I'm still finding out about my recently purchased 2005 GS. Anyone advise me how to turn off the alarm activation mode? The immobiliser is standard I'm informed, no problem. I just want to turn off the alarm so I can move the bike around the garage without having to turn on the ignition and go through all of set/reset process. I have a fob, with the r/h button very worn...... cheers.

The alarm can be programmed to arm with ignition off or alternatively only when the button on the fob is pushed following ignition off. It's all described in the manual the PDF for which you should be able to locate and download for your alarm using Google. In BMW-speak it is the "DWA".

To deactivate the alarm quickly just turn the ignition on. Move the bike then turn it off again.

Right button = on
Left button = off.
But after a few days the alarm goes into some sort of sleep mode and is only disarmed by turning the ignition on.

He didn't want to do that!
But if he has his steering lock on
Then he needs to put his key in the ignition to unlock it.
So turning it on to disarm the alarm would be part of the process. It would actually save having to find the alarm fob in your pocket and press the fob button to disarm it.

Sorted chaps. Managed to download the PDF on the anti theft process. Thanks for the responses, picked up some good tips. Cheers all 👍
