Thanks Dude:thumb

Just a couple more things, one of our party will be 2 up on a 1200GS so would the Top of the World and the Dempster be OK for this? I can`t see a problem and they are very experienced riders but from your vid it looked "interesting to say the least:augie

Do you have the details of the tyre place in Fairbanks as we will be changing to TKC`s and there is no way I`m paying a dealer $240:eek:

Cheers Dude

Ya the top of the world hwy will be no problem for your buddies. It has very good conditions. As for the Dempster, take extreme caution 2 up. The gravel gets deep in spots. One minute your cruising a clear worn out path , then the next thing your holding on white knuckled cause your in deep gravel. Then if it rains watch out for the slickest stuff. I could only compare it to riding on ice.

But like i said take it easy, look ahead, Its not a race so enjoy the ride and arrive in Inuvik safe.

As for the place to buy and change your tires in fairbanks. Call ahead to make sure he gets them for you. http://www.thunderroadalaska.com/?button=1
The owner is a really nice guy. I was intimidated at first cause its more of a "biker" shop, but they turned out to be great.

There is another place down the road from Thunder Road called Alaska fun center http://www.alaskafuncenter.com/ . They are just as cheap. I went to them first but they didnt have time to do it because I just dropped in without calling ahead. I think if you take the wheels off your bike , they only charge $25 each to mount. I never pay for balancing on a Dualsport tire.

One more thing to note. Right across the street from the Alaska Fun Center there is a campsite. You could pitch your tent, take the tires off while having a beer, walk across the street to drop them off. Simple:thumb2

Good times
