Yes, it's the Alford Bike Rally on Sunday 5th and feck me the forecast is for a fine day.:Motomartin

I might even get me arse in gear and go along this time.
Once every 5 years is about right :D

:flag

Well, I hope to be heading South West to collect a GSA 12 but if the guy doesnt respond soon, I will be heading for Alford on the Mamola.

Much rather be collecting that GSA though......

Just back after a quick blast out to Braemar. Got caught in that shower and the roads are hellish greasy.

Never been to this one. Is it worth the effort, Whats to see? :)

Best I can find, it's also a good chance for a natter with folk you haven't seen for a while. If you go be careful, there is always a serious amount of cops on the surrounding roads, all of them pointing hairdryers at us.

PS: See you're hard at work as well Gert!! :augie:thumb

Aye big warning on the hair dryers it will be tied up with Operation Zenith.

They state most amount of accidents happen in Aberdeenshire during September.

It's a few years since I've been to this, and I've only ever been with one of the exhibitors (JC Dundee :augie). Don't even know yet if they're going to be there, no-one at work's asked me to go along yet, so I might turn up as a spectator.

Somewhat annoying as I guess I'll have to pay to get in. :blast

Is the museum there worth a look? I've never been in...

Apparently I've volunteered to take part in the moped marathon, so you may well see me there - I'll be the one being strechered off of the track after forgetting to take my Sanatogen before the 1st heat :D

Saw the moped marathon around 3, bit of a performance difference between the bikes and the riders made for some entertaining racing :D more interesting the F1!

Good talking to you :thumb2 Always nice to put faces to names.

It was a fine day in the end. The Bhud and I had a nice bimble over the twisties and Mrs Nak got to try out a few bikes.

Bumped into Freeloader as well, nice to catch up again :D

Guid day out and the backroads were remarkably quiet :JB

Good to meet youse all too.

Good to find free cake too... :D

...thought the moped racing was hilarious, worth the trip in itself. Also had a look around the transport museum, smallish but good enough for another visit the next time I'm up - the best £3 I spent today. :thumb2

Great day, well worth the effort :clap Sorry to miss you guys but plenty other lads down from Inverness Nairn Forres etc.

Met the BSB chap, good lad, bit of a midgit.

Came back over the lecht and when we got to Grantown it was stowed out with stalls, Ancient cars buy the bucket load, a smatering of old bikes and the sun was blazing, what a day.

No plod to be seen on the roads at all, must have got lucky.

Twas indeed a good day out, with the weather gods smiling on us in the afternoon as well.
Great to chat with Bhud & Nakambale - I'll be watching this space as discussed guy's :augie

Managed to do the Moped thing without breaking anything on the bike or on my body - RESULT. Did manage to come out of the second race looking like I'd been dragged through a ploughed field though - bloody scooters on near slicks throwing mud in my face. Felt good to get past them and spin up the knobbly on the mighty :augie MT50.
