Not having access to the UK price list .....( but coming back at Christmas) would anyone happen to know how much the ali top box and mount cost - fitted and unfitted

Depends on the Box, contact Vern and get him to make you one, it'll be better than anything else and cheaper most likely and secure.

The BMW ali top box & mounting bracket cost about £265, or at least they did when I enquired in the summer. I didn't buy one, but I might get one before my next year's European trip.

One small point,

The carrier for the Ali boxes is designed to fit the Adv. It isn't a straight bolt on job for the vanilla GS.

I do remember seeing a thread where somebody had a couple of photos of the Ali stuff fitted on the standard GS (showing a small bracket under the standard rack).

don,t buy the top box (too small) the right hand pannier is a straight fit and far more useable,does look like you are delivering pizzas though
