Have just fitted Lucas Alien discs and pads to my R1200GS. Have only done about 100 miles since then but am impressed so far. Main reason for change was, if I am honest, cosmetic. I just liked the look of them.

They certainly look different, mate! I've often wondered if these more radical discs wear the pads at a faster rate. Obviously, you won't know yet, having only done 100 miles on them, but something it would be useful to report on as you pile on the miles. :thumb

My suspicion is that they will - the 'slots' will act a little like a plane (spelling?).

If you don't want to admit you just liked them (especially to SWMBO), you could also try:
- lighter, less unsprung weight, therefore better handling
- better heat dissipation, therefore less fade and safer
- better braking, due to the slots that lead to the increased pad wear

These may all be bo!!ox, but may help with the Finance Committee - or you could just say I like them!

Do they make a weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!! noise as you go along:blast
They remind me of wonderful things the Beano (or Victor) "gave away" on the front cover.:D

Why do my bikes down pipes not look like that? :thedummy

My downpipes dont look like that either- but thats because I ride my bike! I give her a proper good thrashing across the scotland almost every day- who wants a bike that looks like you just rode it out of a showroom?
