Should Mayo be playing anyone but Kerry, I'd be on their side. I was not conceived when they last won Sam (1951). A 75 year gap closed. Great game; well done Mayo.

My Son in Law (who is from Dublin) said the 75 year wait was down to a curse placed on the club by the wife of a deceased man, whose funeral cortege was overtaken by the bus carrying the Mayo players after their 1951 victory.
The curse was that Mayo would not win the final again until all of the players on the coach had died

Well you say that but they couldn't win Sam when there were any of that team still alive despite 13 efforts including replays, now they've all passed.............
