Winzip wouldn't open this for me, "not a valid archive"

when I put this into mapsource it becomes a bit tricky to see whats going on.

Is there a way to edit all of the waypoints in one go to show symbol and NOT the name?

My little Garmin V won't hold them all at once, so I've got to be a bit more selective

Access to this data is excellent. But as Jimbo points out, using it is not straight forward.

Can anyone bend their brain to a way to:

Separate the information into regions, perhaps with a filter for coordinates in a spread sheet

Make visible only those waypoints within a proximity of a route (2610 in mind, with no proximity alarms)

Store the information in a format similar to that in which services and lodgings etc are stored, enabling a "find nearby" type highlighting of the info.

Of course Garmin could pick this up and provide functionality similar to GPS based detectors and help us and their sales out in one go?!
