All weather helmet

PHP:
I have taken out a second mortgage and bought a BMW System 5 plus a double glazed visor
40 miles last night

I find the faint ghost images of car lights on the double glazing really disconcerting at night. Looks like a second car pulling out from behind any oncoming car.Otherwise I am happy with the helmet.

Have now done a few more miles in different conditions and have the following observations:-

1) Heavy rain and strong cross winds at 50mph + result in some water blowing in through the chin vent onto the inside of the visor, nothing like as bad as the Justissimo but still annoying.

2) Closing the chin vent and opening the rear vent seems to pull enough air through and solves 1) above.

3) It really doesnt seem to mist up.

4) With my earplugs and bike screen position it seems very quiet.

5) The pin-locked section is too small across the width and interferes with peripheral vision for shoulder checks and life-savers. There is no excuse for that as there is plenty of space on the visor to extend towards the hinge.

Good but not perfect. I would have to try the alternatives before I could give a comparative opinion.

I bought a system5 last year and thoguht it was amazingly quiet for a flip front. I get no misting but the shape means too much pressure right on the crown of the forehead whohc causes fatigue and headaches so I went back to an Arai Raid-II which has also been excellent.

I used to use an Arai Quantum-F - very good and an Arai Syncrotec - also very good but noisy.

There is not a helmet made that wil never let rain through.
