I have been using the cans for years.
I just fancy getting a nice fine mist, rather than a jet, or even in some cases "silly string"

I used to use WD40 on my TDM, but it stained yellow on the cylinders.

There is an outlet at Newton Aycliffe near Darlington. That is not too far from you.

I have used Roy (at my home) for the last three years.

If you dont fancy going to him, get yourself and two other bikes booked in for a "home visit".

sorry, i'll whisper. wouldn't advise against a compressor, i have one myself. very handy

WD40 is ok for some applications, but it washes off in water, so not a long term bet.

My neighbour is an aircraft mechanic, sorry, i mean B.A. aircraft super technician.
He supplies me with cans of astrolan, an anti corrosive substance they use on aircraft.
Amazing stuff, only downside is it's faintly pink when it's applied

Sounds about the right colour shade for some of the numpties on here

Had Jon do my bike on Saturday at the Motorcycle Shack (there's a place you don't find accidentally ). A couple of 800GS in as well.

I used to do it myself but indolence and the infinitely better application makes it worth it for me. A bonus is it is the one time that the bike gets a really proper clean.

Advised not to use FS 365 as well (which is a shame since I've got 5l sitting in the shed).

There was a 6 month old Super Tenere being done and the spokes were completely shot even before its first Winter.

I used to be able to get a product sold for power station turbine parts in storage. It protected my 1970's Kawasaki so well, it looked like the bike had been laid up over winter. But trying to get some more was all but impossible.

F365 is a water/oil emulsion with corrosion inhibitors, with exactly the same list of metal protection benefits as machine shop cutting/coolant oil. Except the soluble oil for coolant is MUCH cheaper so you can use a lot more of it.

I have found this stuff really good. Two cans lasted me for last winter but this time I'm getting four cans to be sure and postage stays the same.

Unlike WD40, it provides a protective film. It cleans off with Jizer or Gunk.

After reading all the hype on here about this treatment i gave it a go, held it at my place and got a couple of others to come and have the treatment as it was a minimum of 5 bikes.
Yes he done a tidy job and travelled a fair distance, would i have it done again, NO.
Buy yourself a cheap compressor with all the extra kit £99, 1 litre of ACF50 £30 and do it yourself, with this kit you will be able to do it for many years and save yourself a fortune, Or get a few mates to chip in for the kit, 1 Litre should do around 15 bikes

I'm not convinced, even more so after watching the You Tube vid of the GSXR600 being done.

I have some anally retentive mates that would gag on the thought of someone using paint / radiator brushes when cleaning (Check out Detailingworld.com)

I can't see on how something as easy to strip as a GS, why you would need to spray it.

I was bored on Sunday, had all the panels and tank cover off my 1200 in about 20 - 30 minutes, gutted it, cleaned it then used combo of GT85, FS365 and the legendary ACF50 in the more venerable area's.

As a reference, this is my ZX12R that I owned for many years, rode through winter and did the same basic thing to. And no matter how much you atomise ACF50, the only way to clean a faired bike "properly" (as in a full degunge) is to remove the panels.

It's all horses for courses though, the best thing about doing a full degunge yourself, is you spot things that you would never have known about and can sort them out.

3 hours work for a whisker under £60, and that included him coming to mine, doing one bike, then going home again. Very impressive.

The bike now looks like it did they day I picked it up (brand new) and I wouldn't hesitate recommending AYB to anyone thinking about getting them to do your bike. When it comes to cleaning the bike, I am meticulous, and this guy did a fantastic job.
