My spoked wheels have got some sort of milky stain on them which I can’t remove, tried everything. Damaged by a previous owner. Anyone recommend a company in NW that can refurb?

A second set I bought for mine had that. I tried every product I could find and it would not come off. In the end I used scotchbrite sheet soaked in Scott oil, I think I have removed most of it but have left them open to corrosion more. I have thought about masking the spokes off and spraying them but can’t be bothered, not easy where it goes into the rim.

I had a nightmware with my spoked wheels and actually just ended-up buying another set. You have to remove the spokes to be able to refurb / respray them properly but the real issue is it's near impossible to true the wheel and there are only a handful of companies that I have seen in the UK that will attempt (even then it sometimes takes a couple of attempts). There is a place in Devon that is well known and Hagon Shocks will do in London (although relunctantly due to the time it takes).

I doubt you'll be able to clean them up as it's probably caused with wheel cleaning chemicals that have run to the bottom of the wheel while its sat in the garage (trust me I tried everything).

My advice would be buy another used wheel off ebay. Good luck.

When I bought mine the previous owner has put black plastic sleeves over all the spokes. You can rotate them with your fingers . Protects the spokes and I prefer the total black wheels look. Could do the same using silver sleeves maybe?

I bet that’s been caused by using strong cleaner and leaving it on too long.

A friend had this after his GS had been washed at the dealers during a service. They replaced the wheels in the end.
