alloy wheels

I've just bought and fitted a pair of alloy wheels from an 1150(R) onto my 1100gs. By the way they fitted it looks as though, for the front wheel, I'm going to have to take off the disks and the callipers if I ever need to change it/ fit a new tyre. Is this right or am I doing anything wrong? Polite answers only!

You shouldn't need to take the Discs off, I don't, just Callipers will do it, unless the 1100 is significantly different to the 1150....

Calipers only on a 1100. Forgot disc lock and broke speedo drive.
1st removal, Replaced front tyre, 2nd removal. Replaced disc bobbins, 3rd removal. Feel like a formula one mechanic now.
