In the past, I've reshaped light damage like that with a block of wood and a big hammer.

yea it's not leaking but i feel the vibrations when on the motorway.......and I will have to do 1500 miles on them next month :(

have thought about it too.......but I might screw it up ;)........and a cheap and cheerful repair job could be worth it

Alloy Repairs

I got the two wheels of my RS1100 done by a guy outside Kinsale some years ago. Can't think of his name, but he's not far from JT Motorcycles in Innishanon if thats any help.

The wheels were fine after being done!

take the tyre off,
heat the area[heat gun not blow torch]
beat it with lump hammer and block of timber,
back on tyre and ballance.

Hi Beat, I'd be inclined to agree with Vern, that seems very slight to cause
much if any vibration..... I'd say get it balanced and see if that fixes it.

If it's really bothering ya bring it out to my job after 5:00 some day and I'll
fix it for ya.

They are balanced and the rest is history

:D

Thanks for the offer. . . . . .will try to repair it with a hammer when I change Tyre the next time. . The big hammer wi;)ll do hopefully

I have pulled them back for myself clamped on a machine table heated and pulled down with a clamp. Yours dosent look too bad its not causing the vibration.
Is it a 1200?

I
Is it a 1200?

yep ....but I can differentiate between engine rattle and wheel vibrations:bow

but the balancing has sortet it..............will still try to get it hammered when the next tyre goes on ;).....the idea of a machine table ore something similar sound good

just put 3 more equally spaced dents arounf the rim will counter act the 1st dent hahahahah

I can loan you a wheel for your trip

very generous ........:thumb2 and Daithi too
.. very kind......:thumb2

thanks but i won't because the vibrations are gone after balancing........it's all grand for the trip and when I'm back I will change the tyre anyway. ........
