i am looking to buy a pair of these boots. but cant find a shop local to me that stocks them ....plenty up north or in the west country, i want to try a pair on to get a good fit, anybody now where in essex i can get some, and do they come up small. lots on the net ...i take a 10 uk .

Before you hand over loads of your "hard-earned...," take a look at the soles & think of the boggy hole that you're trying to pull/push your bike out of & then find something that won't put you on your arse with the bike on top of you... I was really keen on some as well - I'd had a pair of Tech 5's for years.

NB AStar use American sizing which is one size bigger.

I usualy take a size 10 in most things but all the AStar boots I have had have been 11's

After 2/3 an hour battling to put a set of tech 10s on I gave up and bought Tech 3s. Very happy but beware of the dreaded foot stink!!!!!

When you drown them in water they can smell of cat p*ss, drives the dogs mad :D:D:D

I had a pair but couldn`t get on with them, the ankle was too stiff for me for gear changes. Try to try them on and then sit on your bike and try changing gear.

I just got some Sidi Crossfires, which have the ankle hinge joint. They'll still need a bit of wearing in but are very comfy. I looked at Tech 10's and 8's but found them a bit too stiff.

I got the Crossfires too, they look dead cool, the ankle is much better but i still had to adjust the gear lever. Only downside to them is they are not waterproof so you will need some Sealskinz too !!

I use Tech 8's and love them. Take a wee while to get used to and I did have to fit an adjustable gear lever but don't ride without them now.

thats it, just as i was getting ready to buy the tech 10's along come you lot with the crossfires, as i have yet to find a dealer with the tech 10's or crossfires in stock so that i can go there and try these boots on, i am still in the market for a pair of boots. i am ready to go back out green laning again after my small hiccup, the reason for new boots so if anybody nows where i can try these boots on in the south east of england can you please tell me, ta

I got my Sidi's at Leisure Trail, in Nottingham (01159732466) It's a bit far, but maybe they can ship them down. They were the cheapest as well at 199 (most seem to be 219). I've got size 11 feet but found size 12.5 (British, not US) fit perfectly. If you call speak to Peter, he's a nice guy.

He might be good enough to call the Sidi rep and ask where dealers are in Essex.
