After 1,000 miles on my f650GS SE I have realised my mistake and am heading back to a 1200 GSA

The SE is an excellent bike but I miss the Telelever, the shaft, the high speed motorway stability and the sheer joy of owning the best bike out there.

And I'm not waiting for the water-cooled model!

My wife is SO going to kill me .......

imho - good choice.

I like the shaft drive, comfort and telelever - fantastic for passengers and long distances, with the ability to hussle a fair bit if required.

looking forward to seeing what options you go for :)

Wait for the watercooled. Don't listen to the nay sayers on here, it will be fantastic.:thumb You're an accountant, you have lots of money, do it properly this time.:D:beerjug:

If the price is right - it will be a fantastic bike - in fact I may just get one myself and save all the hassle of having to stop every 5mins for the aircooled lump to cool down ;)

Ditch the 650 and the wife! Buy the 1200 and treat yourself to a fit blond 36dd Slovac au pair that does extras!

Was it you that lapped at 133 mph?

Was it you that lapped at 133 mph?

Unfortunately not - our lap record is only 131.5mph, held by the TT legend John McGuinness! & I'm not Bruce Anstey, who took a GSXR round the Ulster GP - Dundrod circuit with a 133.9mph lap!!!

I do regularly reach speeds over 133mph round the course, but it's not quite in the same league ;)

The horrendous buffeting from the screen mostly.Tried different screens and still there. But also the brakes.Poor after GSA.Riding position.Odd.Suspension was crude after BM.Switchgear.Designed by a mutant with 8 inch thumbs. Also big gaps to let water in.Could see internals through these. The finish.Edges of panels not painted. The instruments/computer.Script and clock so small,I couldnt see it.The engine noise.Like a Dyson.
Looks lovely and goes well though!:D

Thanks. Sounds like they built something with the look - but not the goods!

Thanks again and ride safe.

I've ordered a fully loaded Adventure (in Magma Red) with cases but no top box this time.

Thank you to Duncan of Vines of Guildford for digging me out of a large (self inflicted) poo filled hole.

That was an expensive mistake :comfort
